Size: Diameter approx. 15 cm

This dish features a slightly raised rim and moderate depth, making it suitable for a variety of dishes such as simmered foods, salads, or small servings of hot pot. It takes its name from the traditional Japanese dish namasu, which it was originally used to serve. The gently elevated rim is designed to hold saucy or moist foods with ease—an intentional detail that reflects its practical origin.
The decoration is applied using a method known as inban (transfer printing), developed in the Meiji era. Unlike hand-painted porcelain, this technique uses stencils or transfer sheets, making porcelain more widely available through mass production.
