Origin: Laos
Materials: Cotton
Size: Approx. 35 cm × 123 cm
These fabrics are rare vintage pieces, entirely hand-woven by Hmong women living in the mountainous regions of Laos.
The intricate geometric patterns, which may look like embroidery at first glance, are created using a highly sophisticated "supplementary weft" technique. This involves manually inserting decorative threads one by one while the base fabric is being woven. You can feel the beautiful three-dimensional texture and the soft touch of hand-spun cotton.
The geometric patterns passed down through generations of the Hmong people carry deep meanings, such as family health, prosperity, and protection against evil. Having once been cherished as a part of someone's clothing or daily life, these vintage pieces possess a unique depth and character that only time can create.
Note:
・Color Bleeding: Due to the use of natural dyes, some color bleeding or transfer may occur, especially when new. Please be cautious when in contact with light-colored clothing or bags.
・Washing: As these consist of aged and delicate threads, please hand wash gently in cold or lukewarm water, separately from other items.
・Vintage Characteristics: As these are authentic vintage items, you may find minor stains, frayed threads, or slight fading. We hope you appreciate these as part of the fabric's unique history and charm.
