This is a large Japanese transferware plate (inban-de), featuring a floral pattern in the center and auspicious motifs such as pine, bamboo, and plum (shōchikubai) around the rim. Based on its composition and style, it is believed to have been made in the early 20th century (late Meiji to early Showa period).
The decoration was applied using the inban (transfer-printing) technique, known for its vivid underglaze blue (sometsuke) patterns. The rim is jagged in shape—called ige in the Saga dialect—and finished with a warm iron glaze (tetsu-yū), giving the piece a rustic and appealing character.

This is a vintage item. Stains, glaze irregularities, or discoloration may be present due to age. Please understand these characteristics as part of its charm before purchasing.
