Country: Morocco
Materials: Halfa grass (dried grass), acrylic yarn
Size: Approx. 16 cm × 29 cm
This lidded basket was handcrafted by the Berber people, the indigenous ethnic group of Morocco.
It is made by coiling halfa (dried grass) as the core material and wrapping it with colorful acrylic yarn.
While wool was traditionally used, acrylic yarn has become more common today due to its practicality.
Originally, these baskets were used in households for carrying or storing homemade bread, but they are now appreciated worldwide as decorative storage items and examples of traditional Moroccan craft.
※ Handmade item. Please note that due to the nature of the materials and crafting process, slight irregularities such as warping, fiber fuzziness, or loose threads may be present. These are considered part of the basket's handmade charm.
